Taiwan's Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) is investing ₹22,000 crore to build its largest facility outside China in Doddaballapura, Bengaluru.

This new plant will become Foxconn's second-largest globally and create 40,000 jobs.

The investment will extend into other sectors, with a focus on both mobile phone assembly and potential electric vehicle components.

Foxconn's CEO, Young Liu, assured that the facility will meet global standards and prioritise employee well-being.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other officials committed full support for the project, which includes allocating 300 acres of land and coordinating with state agencies to ensure smooth implementation.

The new plant, named Project Elephant, highlights Karnataka's strength in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), offering a competitive advantage with its infrastructure and skilled workforce.

Foxconn, with a market cap of NT$2.08 trillion and a global presence, supports major companies like Apple and Amazon.
